Elizabeth Rutherfurd Principal, AIA

Lily graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with a BA in the School of Architecture, and has a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the Yale School of Architecture.

She is engaged in the design process and resolution of each project. In collaboration with Bruce, and in their work with the Kinlin Rutherfurd team, Lily strives to create architecture and interiors that are finely detailed, fully integrated and beautifully composed. With a distinct sensitivity for color, texture and finishes, she seeks to refine the look and feel of our finished work. She works in collaboration with the client, and with other project consultants, to develop each project from a cohesive design concept to an elegantly resolved finished product.

Earlier in her career Lily was a Project Architect at Gwathmey Siegel & Associates Architects. She worked on large residential projects in Maryland and in Austin Texas and also on the International Center of Photography museum renovation in New York. She worked with Gabellini Associates, Joel Sanders Architect and Pei, Cobb, Freed and Partners. While at Yale, Lily was awarded the Wendy Elizabeth Banning Prize and was a teaching fellow for Yale’s undergraduate Architecture studios and for graduate courses in Structures. Lily also studied at the École des Beaux Arts in Fontainbleau, France, and was the recipient of their First Prize in Architecture and a medal from the Académie d’Architecture.
